Qualified Domestic Relation Order in Mission Viejo, California
How Does QDRO Work?
A QDRO, Qualified Domestic Relation Order, is pre-tax division of a 401K, IRA or Pension account.
The distribution is based on the alternate payees community property rights in a participants account. The amount is calculated based on a court ordered formula or the distribution may be based on other factors determined by the court at the time of divorce.
A QDRO cannot be initiated until a Judgment for Dissolution is entered by the court.
How We Can Help With QDRO
We will prepare and file all necessary paperwork and serve all interested parties.
We are not attorney’s and do not represent you in court. If a hearing becomes necessary because one party refuses to sign the QDRO, there will be a separate charge to prepare and file the motion. You will need to attend the hearing on your own and represent yourself.
Costs of Our QDRO Services
For our QDRO service, we offer a payment plan of $500/mo until the process is completed. We will need a copy of your divorce decree and a statement for the account that’s being divided.
The entire QDRO process can be discussed in a Consultation prior to engaging our services. Contact us to schedule a meeting.
