Ellie is the owner and founder of Laguna Legal. Ellie and her team have been helping clients prepare their legal documents since 1998. Layla Ortiz is a graduate from Pepperdine University with a degree in Advertising and Marketing. Following her graduation, Layla has utilized her skills in marketing and content creation to help Laguna Legal grow to the next level. Layla has worked at Laguna Legal since she was 16 years old and has taken on many different roles within the company. Layla’s current position includes customer billing and handling Monthly Memberships. Layla is also a notary public. In her free time, she loves to crochet and is a pet mom to her cat Luna and her snake Monty.
Israel Guevara is our Deed and Document Recording Specialist. His previous work experience included recording documents for title companies. This has allowed him to gain a wide array of knowledge involving real estate transactions including, but not limited to deeds, deeds of trust, and affidavits. He also has his secure license, which allows him to submit documents directly to the county for recording. Israel is also a notary public. While away from the office he loves to read and spend time with family and friends.
Daniel Mejia is our Living Trust Specialist. His previous work experience as an Escrow/Title Assistant has allowed him to gain a wide array of knowledge involving real estate transactions including, but not limited to residential, commercial and investment property transactions. He is known for providing excellent customer service and ensuring that all parties are informed from start to finish. Daniel is also dedicated to accuracy, professionalism, and client satisfaction. While away from the office he loves to spend time with his daughter, family, and friends.
Barb Sellke is our Front Desk Manager. Prior to joining the team, she worked as a corporate and securities paralegal assisting in the formation and general maintenance of corporations and LLC’s. More recently she has worked in more administrative roles including clerking for school districts and working in human resources for a non-profit giving her the opportunity to gain skills in working with a variety of matters and deadlines. While not at work, Barb is usually spending time with family and friends, cooking and trying to keep up with her two kids in college.
Billy Daniels is the licensed attorney who assists Laguna Legal’s clients when they have an issue that requires an attorney to be involved. Billy Daniels has over 50 years of experience practicing law, specializing in personal injury. Billy Daniels is an excellent trial attorney and has argued cases twice in the Supreme Court. In Billy’s own words, “Every person I have represented; as well as every trip I have taken; and every trial I have been in has been a learning experience. That is what life is about. However, we tend to use a methodology that isolates a problem into compartments and segments, and we address each one according to the agreed strategy to move forward. We simply make decisions and solve the problems one at a time.”
