Covid-19 has had so many negative impacts on us as a nation and many of us have been personally impacted by the uncertainty and suffered great loss. Our previous post spoke about some surprising outcomes of Covid-19. Number one on that list was: Many people are setting up new corporations despite the government shut down and stay at home orders. The Secretary of State is processing new corporations faster than pre Covid-19.
The reason for this surprising turn of events is there are so many government programs being offered that many of our clients can benefit from by being incorporated. It’s not too late to take advantage of these programs. If you have often thought about setting up a corporation or LLC, now is the time! Please call us. Ways our office has been impacted by Covid-19:
1) We’ve expanded our work force. Pat Herman has been essential to our team during this covid transition. Cyndi Holcomb joined our team in July. She is handling all of our deeds and recordings. We’ve also hired Kevin Phan, who is helping with marketing and social media. We are currently looking for one more full time employee to join our team. If you’re reading this and know someone who would be a good fit, please send them our way.
2) We are in the final stages of County approval and will be offering electronic deed and document recordings to our clients. Our office can electronically record documents throughout the state of California. Many County Recorder offices are still closed to the public as a result of Covid-19. Even with mail time, we will be able to record documents 4 times faster than clients who are mailing their documents directly to the County Recorder.
3) Zoom has become an essential part of our business. We are no longer limited to serving clients in our Orange County location. We are able to meet clients from all over the State of California over zoom and email documents for signature. We are hoping the government will implement electronic notarization in the State of California, but until then we are able to email documents to clients all over the state and have the documents notarized locally, then returned to our office for electronic recording.
4) In addition to expanding our territory, we have opened a new satellite location in Marina Del Rey. It is a boat docked at the California Yacht Club that we will use to host annual thank you parties for our clients and referral partners. The boat and the yacht club are an excellent way to be outdoors, get fresh air and practice social distancing during the era of covid.
